Leather invites hard questions, and they deserve straight answers rather than slogans. Here is where ours comes from and how we think about it.
A by-product, not a purpose
Our sheep leather is a by-product of the food industry — hides that exist regardless of whether anyone makes a jacket from them. Using them turns a material that would otherwise be discarded into something built to last for years. It is not the reason animals are raised; it is a way of not wasting what results.
How it's made
Sourcing matters as much as the hide. We work with tanneries held to environmental and animal-welfare standards, because responsible tanning is part of what you're paying for and part of what makes full-grain worth doing at all.
Where we're plain about it
We don't claim these jackets are hand-built in a single workshop — they're produced by skilled external manufacturers to our design and material specifications. What we do control, and stand behind, is the choice of a full-grain grade, a supple sheep hide, and responsible sourcing. Those are the decisions that define the piece, and we'd rather be clear about them than dress them up.
