Cowhide is substantial by nature; a cow leather jacket announces itself on the shoulders. Sheep leather covers the same area at a fraction of the weight. You notice it most after an hour of wear — the jacket hasn't tired you, and you've half-forgotten it's on. That is the quiet luxury of a light hide.
Drape
Drape is how leather falls and folds. A stiff hide stands away from the body and holds hard creases. Sheep leather is soft enough to follow your frame, so it layers cleanly over a shirt or knit and moves with you instead of fighting you. Full-grain keeps that softness intact rather than sanding it flat.
Why it matters
